Switch to Flittly

Bring your history with you.

Flittly imports transaction exports from the apps below. Mint shut down in 2024, but if you saved your export, it still works. Everything is read on your computer.

How it works

  1. Download Flittly and open it.
  2. Export your transactions from your old app, using the steps below.
  3. Drop the file into Flittly. It recognizes the layout and shows a preview. Check that money in and money out look right before you confirm.

These exports carry your transactions: dates, payees and amounts, plus categories, tags and notes where your old app includes them. If your app is not listed, any bank statement works too (PDF, CSV, OFX, QFX, QBO or QIF).

On this page: Mint, Monarch, YNAB, Copilot Money, Rocket Money, Empower (Personal Capital), Simplifi, Quicken, Lunch Money, Actual Budget, Tiller.

Switch from Mint

Mint shut down in 2024, so this only helps if you saved an export earlier.

  1. Find the transactions.csv file you downloaded from Mint (Transactions page, Export all transactions).
  2. Drop that file into Flittly.

Switch from Monarch

You can also bring your account balances along.

  1. Sign in to Monarch in a web browser (the phone app cannot export).
  2. Open Settings, then Data.
  3. Choose Download Transactions. With a lot of history, download it in pieces of about 5,000 rows.
  4. Optional: choose Download account balances too.
  5. Drop the files into Flittly.

Switch from YNAB

Flittly reads the register and ignores the budget file in the export.

  1. Open your plan in YNAB on the web and open the plan menu (your plan name, top left).
  2. Choose Export Plan Data. YNAB emails or downloads a zip.
  3. Drop the zip into Flittly. Unzipping it first is optional.

Switch from Copilot Money

Expenses are positive in this export; Flittly accounts for that.

  1. Open Copilot on your iPhone or Mac.
  2. Go to Settings, then Export Data (transactions).
  3. Pick the date range and export, then save the CSV to Files or AirDrop it to your computer.
  4. Drop the file into Flittly.

Switch from Rocket Money

Rocket Money emails you the file.

  1. On rocketmoney.com open Transactions and choose Export, or use the CSV download option in the app.
  2. Apply a date range if you only want part of your history.
  3. Open the emailed download link on a computer and save the CSV.
  4. Drop the file into Flittly.

Switch from Empower (Personal Capital)

  1. Sign in to Empower on the web and open Transactions.
  2. Set the date range and accounts, then use the download (CSV) button above the list.
  3. Drop the file into Flittly.

Switch from Simplifi

  1. In Simplifi open Transactions and filter to the accounts and dates you want.
  2. Use the export (CSV) option on the Transactions page.
  3. Drop the file into Flittly.

Switch from Quicken

This layout has no account column, so Flittly asks which account the file belongs to.

  1. In Quicken export the register or a transaction report to CSV (File, Export).
  2. If your Quicken only offers QIF, that works too.
  3. Drop the file into Flittly.

Switch from Lunch Money

  1. In Lunch Money open Transactions and set the filters or date range you want.
  2. Use the export (download CSV) option on the Transactions page.
  3. Drop the CSV into Flittly.

Switch from Actual Budget

  1. In Actual open an account (or All accounts) and use the account menu.
  2. Choose Export to download the transactions as CSV.
  3. Repeat per account if your version exports one account at a time.
  4. Drop the files into Flittly.

Switch from Tiller

The extra Month and Week columns are ignored.

  1. Open your Tiller spreadsheet in Google Sheets and click the Transactions tab.
  2. Choose File, Download, Comma-separated values (.csv) while that tab is showing.
  3. Drop the file into Flittly.
